How we rate
Silicone is tracked separately from plastic, because people split on whether a silicone gasket counts. Every product lands in one of four tiers:
No plastic and no silicone anywhere in the product.
Plastic-free except for silicone parts (gaskets, seals, nipples). Accepted by many, avoided by some.
Contains plastic (housing, handle, knob) but none of it touches the food or liquid.
Some plastic in the food/liquid path, but meaningfully less than typical alternatives.
