Ninja Foodi NeverStick Premium Fry Pan

Ninja Foodi NeverStick Premium Fry Pan

Not recommended

Despite the "NeverStick" name, the coating is PTFE-based - a fluoropolymer in the PFAS family - in direct food contact. It's PFOA- and PFA-free, but "NeverStick" does not mean PTFE-free.

We don't recommend this one

The "NeverStick" coating is PTFE - a fluoropolymer (PFAS) in direct food contact - so it's disqualified for a plastic-free kitchen. For a bare, coating-free surface, see the cookware pick, the Lodge cast-iron skillet, or the All-Clad D3 stainless.

The verdict: Mostly plastic

The pan is heavy-gauge hard-anodized aluminum with a durable nonstick coating, and Ninja markets it hard on longevity and its PFOA/PFA-free, lead- and cadmium-free formulation. What the "NeverStick" branding quietly omits is that the coating is PTFE-based - a fluoropolymer, i.e. a plastic in the PFAS "forever chemicals" family - sitting in direct contact with food. PFOA-free is a real improvement over older Teflon, but it is not the same as PTFE-free or PFAS-free: the whole point of this page is that "NeverStick" is a durability claim, not a plastic-free one.

A solidly built hard-anodized fry pan with a heavy 4.5mm base, a double-riveted stainless handle, and Ninja's "NeverStick" nonstick interior. It's oven-safe to 500F, metal-utensil and dishwasher safe, and the coating is more durable and cleaner-formulated than bargain Teflon - PFOA-free, PFA-free, and free of lead and cadmium. Sold as single pans and in sets, aimed at cooks who want a long-lasting everyday nonstick.

Pros

  • Durable, heavy-gauge hard-anodized construction; oven-safe to 500F
  • PFOA-, PFA-, lead-, and cadmium-free formulation
  • Stainless handle, metal-utensil safe, dishwasher-safe

Cons

  • The nonstick coating is PTFE - a fluoropolymer (plastic) in the PFAS family - in direct food contact
  • PTFE degrades/offgasses when overheated (an empty preheating pan can reach that threshold) and can shed particles once scratched
