Fritaire Non-Toxic Glass Air Fryer

Fritaire Non-Toxic Glass Air Fryer

Not recommended

The rare air fryer with no coating in the food path at all - a tempered-glass cooking bowl and 304 stainless accessories - but reliability and build quality are poor for the price, so we document it without recommending it.

We don't recommend this one

Genuinely coating-free food path (tempered glass + 304 stainless), but reliability and QC are poor for a $$$ one-product brand - DOA units, steam-killed touchscreens after a few months, flimsy build and hinge, grease leaks, and only mediocre crisping. We document it for its materials but can't recommend it; for a coating-free air fry see the oven-route picks (Our Place Wonder Oven / Cuisinart TOA-70) or the glass-basket options.

The verdict: No-contact plastic

The cooking bowl is tempered glass and all food-contact accessories (rotisserie, tumbler, air stand) are 304 stainless steel - no PTFE, no ceramic sol-gel, no nonstick coating anywhere food touches. Fritaire states one internal component uses a food-grade PPS plastic rated to 500F, but the unit runs at 400F max and that part is not in the food path. We rate it no-contact-plastic (not fully plastic-free) only because of that internal plastic part; the surfaces your food actually touches are bare glass and stainless.

Food sits in a clear tempered-glass bowl on 304 stainless accessories, with a self-clean cycle that circulates hot soapy water. The glass bowl is a different form factor than a basket, capacity is modest, and it comes from a small single-product brand. If you want a dedicated air fryer with the most transparent materials disclosure we found, this is the pick - otherwise a convection/toaster oven with a stainless tray does the same job for less money.

Pros

  • Fully visible cooking; self-clean cycle
  • Most transparently materials-disclosed air fryer we found

Cons

  • Reliability is the dealbreaker - reports of dead-on-arrival units and touchscreens killed by steam within months
  • Flimsy build and hinge; grease can leak from the bowl seam
  • Crisping is only mediocre for a $$$ machine (Homes & Gardens - stylish but lacking in substance)
  • Niche single-product brand; longevity and support unproven
  • Glass bowl is more fragile than a metal basket and a different form factor
  • Modest capacity; pricier than a plain toaster oven
